Zeus was born and raised in Singapore. He completed his bachelor’s degree with NTU’s School of Biological Sciences where he first joined the Kline lab as a visiting intern and a Final Year Project student. Zeus came back to lab after graduation as a PhD student in 2016.

Outside of the lab, Zeus enjoys hanging out with friends, swimming, travelling around the world and watching American dramas. He loves trying out new cuisines and has an obsession with coffee.

Zeus’s project focuses on E. faecalis resistance to antimicrobials. Specifically, he looks at how cationic antimicrobial peptides target membrane microdomains and the mechanisms by which E. faecalis is able circumvent them. Zeus is currently looking into the constituents of these microdomains as well as genes and membrane lipids involved in cationic antimicrobial resistance.
