Artur Matysik, PhD

Artur undertook his PhD degree in the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University and, before that, his MSc degree in biotechnology/biophysics from Jagiellonian University (Poland). His previous research was focused on single molecule imaging and tracking, live cell imaging, diffusion analysis in supported lipid bilayers, phase separation and interactions between membrane components in model membrane systems, structural and functional studies on novel fluorescent proteins. He is passionate about microscopy, novel imaging techniques, biofilms, data visualization and the use of computational techniques to solve biological problems.

After hours, Art is adventure biker and technical diver passionated not only in cave diving, but also marine biodiversity and its potential use in biotechnology.
