Artur Matysik, PhD

Artur undertook his PhD degree in the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University and, before that, his MSc degree in biotechnology/biophysics from Jagiellonian University (Poland). His previous research was focused on single molecule imaging and tracking, live cell imaging, diffusion analysis in supported lipid bilayers, phase separation and interactions between membrane components in model membrane systems, structural and functional studies on novel fluorescent proteins. He is passionate about optical microscopy, novel imaging techniques, image analysis and the use of computational techniques to solve biological problems. After hours, Art is a diving instructor and technical diver passionate not only in wreck and cave diving, but also marine biodiversity and its potential use in biotechnology.
