Bala Davient graduated from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore (2015-2018) and is currently pursuing his PhD under the combined mentorship of Prof. Kimberly Kline, Prof. David Ian Leavesley, and Prof. Thng Tien Guan Steven. He is interested in determining the bacterial species diversity, and their interactions, within biofilms isolated from diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) through combined meta-omics sequencing. Bala wishes to contriute to the growing wound-biofilm research field and translate basic research into beneficial products which could enhance DFU patients’ quality of life. In addition to his interest in research, he is a fitness enthusiast and a competitive online gamer in multiplayer titles such as Diablo and DotA.
