In their analysis of the major ASM conferences over the past several, they present data showing a strong correlation between the presence of females on conference convening committees and the number of female speakers presenting at the conference. Also notable was the fact that they could only compare all-male convening committees to mixed gender convening committees; there were not enough all-female convening committees to include in the analysis.
