Summer 2012 Meetings
Two weeks jam-packed with science: first at the American Society for Microbiology General Meeting in San Francisco where I reunited with Seifert and Hultgren lab members…


…and then on to the Bacterial Cell Surfaces Gordon Research Conference at Mount Snow, Vermont.
The meeting was full of interesting talks – some favorites included Mariana Pinho, Silvia Bulgheresi, Joseph Mougous, Ry Young, Arash Komeili, Kumaran Ramamurthi, Marcia Goldberg, and many more. In between scientific sessions I got to play outside, and caught up with more of the extended Seifert and Hultgren lab families.

Kline Awarded SEO Seed Money Grant
The Sustainable Earth Office at NTU has awarded Kimberly Kline, along with collaborator Swaine Chen of the Genome Institute of Singapore, seed money to explore how polymicrobial biofilm dynamics vary in different environments.
4th ASM Conference on Prokaryotic Cell Biology and Development
Just returned from a great meeting in a great city!
Highlights included presentations by Marie Elliot, Marvin Whitely, Gurol Suel, Karine Gibbs, Roberto Kolter, Christine Jacobs-Wagner
… and Enterococcal compatriot Aaron Barnes from the Dunny lab.
