The Kline lab was at the SCELSE’s Annual Scientific Retreat held at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa on 29 and 30 November. Some of the lab members presented at the (recycled) poster session, while Claudia and Navin represented the lab in the Short talks segment.

In February, Kishore attended the GRC on Antimicrobial Peptides, and was picked to give a talk at the associated GRS.
In July, Sumitra went to the GRS & GRC for Microbial Cell Adhesion in the US. She gave at talk at the GRS and was voted one of the two best presenters! Way to go Sumi!!!
Ling Ning and Adeline attended the IUMS meeting in Singapore in July. Ling Ning’s abstract was chosen for a talk (woohoo!) and Adeline won a student travel award!
In September, Wei Hong will attend the CSHL meeting on Microbial Pathogenesis and Host Response in New York and Pei Yi will represent the Kline lab at The Great Wall meeting in Portugal!
And in October, Ling Ning will head to Atlanta for the ASM Conference on Cell-Cell Communication in Bacteria.
Sumitra and Ling Ning presented a the SIL Symposium https://www.sil-2017.com/student-speakers held at NTU this week. Ling Ning won a best presentation award!
Who was chosen to give an oral presentation of his work at the Gordon Research Seminar, prior to the GRC on Antimicrobial Peptides this week in Ventura California! Way to go Kishore!
Irina is spending part of the summer in coooooool Sweden, where she is visiting the lab of Sun Nyunt Wai at the University of Umeå.
His abstract was selected for a talk at the Society for General Microbiology Irish Division Meeting on Microbial Interfaces in Galway, Ireland in June.
